Emergencies

When we are open

Emergencies will of course be seen immediately, but please telephone first to inform the staff.

During office hours, the surgery is open for prescription collection, counter sales and general advice.

When we are closed

Outside office hours, you will have a choice for your call to be redirected to our out-of-hours emergency veterinary services which, depending on where you choose, is provided by Vets Now based in Upper Brighton Road in Worthing OR Pets Emergency Services in Brighton.

For more information about our emergency services please see here

If you do have to use the emergency service during the night or at the weekend, please be aware that emergencies will be seen at the emergency vet’s premises not at Victoria Road and will incur additional costs due to it being out of surgery hours. These fees must be paid direct to the emergency vet service. Your pet can be transferred to Northdale the following day to continue treatment.

Health Checks & Consultations

We offer routine consultations, Monday to Saturday, for any health concerns that you may have for your pet. Please contact our surgeries to make an appointment. We also encourage our clients to have their animals checked regularly in order to pick up on problems at an early stage. Preventive treatment includes weight checks. Elderly animals in particular need to be closely monitored.

We offer a variety of nursing clinics, many of which are free of charge or a very small cost. These include clinics for monitoring your pet’s weight, diabetic clinic, renal clinic, senior and mobility clinics, as well as free health checks for your new pet with our nursing team. Please contact reception for more information or to make an appointment.

Operations

We have a dedicated operating theatre with separate areas for preparation and non-sterile procedures. Animals generally make better surgical patients than humans and modern anaesthetic techniques greatly reduce the risks involved. All animals are given a pre-anaesthetic check at admittance, to keep anaesthetic risks to a minimum. Trained and dedicated nurses monitor the anaesthesia carefully during any surgical procedure. The evening before procedure, most animals will need to go without food and water. A pre-op advice sheet will be given to you at the time of booking, this will give full details.

Worming & Flea Treatments

We recommend that cats and dogs are treated regularly - monthly or quarterly, depending on the product used. Please discuss with the team.

Did you know that if you join our Pet Health Club you can spread the cost of all your pet's routine treatments? Vaccinations, worming and flea treatments are included within the 12 monthly payments. You'll also save money on food, waiting room stock, neutering, passports and much more!
